Jim’s work made a little cameo on the season premiere of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice last week!
For their first challenge, the all-stars were tasked with preparing and selling meatballs for charity at two of NYC’s own The Meatball Shop locations. BoweryBoogie reported on the filming back in October.
The owners of the shop had previously commissioned Jim to build mosaics in the entryways of the Greenwich St and Bedford St locations.
Team “Power” (Ha!) set up shop at 64 Greenwich St, while Team “Plan B” did so at 84 Stanton St.
In one of the shots above, you can catch a glimpse of Jim’s work as contestant Gary Busey runs out of the shop to try and hawk some tourists on a double-decker bus into the shop to buy a few balls. Actor and fellow tabloid fodder Stephan Baldwin looks on.
And the latter shots — yes, multiple shots — show a Playboy Bunny passing through the entranceway of Team Power’s headquarters with a check for $5,000. (That mosaic was actually done by owner Daniel Holzman’s mother, so, while this latter sequence doesn’t have much to do with Jim directly, any chance to post pics of a Playboy Bunny, with a $5,000 check, in a meatball shop, and we’re seizing the opportunity! SEO gold! And, as Team Plan B leader, Trace Adkins, said at one point during the show: “I love beautiful women with big checks.”)
It’s not every day an artist can say his work was featured on a nationally syndicated network television program.
